Reach Out and Read Kansas City

Who We Are

Reach Out and Read Kansas city makes literacy promotion a standard part of pediatric care so that children grow up with books and enter school ready to read.

Pediatric providers encourage parents to read to children and offer developmental advice around books at each well-child visit from birth through 5 years.

A new book is given to children between birth and 5 years to take home at each well baby check-up.

Volunteers read to children in clinic waiting rooms.
